And then we got the virus.
A family member caught it at work and we had a family b-day party, so we all got it.
Long story, short: We're all fine.
My own story: Day 1 was a horrible flu basically; aches and huge fatigue.
Day 2 I was mostly better, but still just tired.
I felt fine after that, but lost my sense of smell on about Day 4.
My kids' story: They all got low-grade fevers for 24 hours or less.
No fatigue, no cold, no aches, basically nothing.
They proceeded as normal with playing games and swimming in Nana's pool.
And then we quarantined (quite happily because we all felt fine)
for the recommended number of days.
We were fortunate to get quarantined with my parents and my sister's family, so we made the best of it and had a blast playing games, games, games.

We were supposed to have a family gathering/small (for us) reunion during our visit.
Kayla and Sorcha were especially bummed, so we came up with some ideas to have a quarantined and distanced reunion.
We contacted the families who were going to come (my brothers' families) and we all had board game tournaments and then share via text who won. We did extra planned a few other fun games as well.
A Battle of the Books game was organized.
Kayla and Sorcha picked about 5 pictures books and divided the group into two teams. Each team had a team leader (Nana or Granddaddy) who read the books to the other teammates. They tried to pay attention to plot and picture details. Then we had a Battle of the Books and someone from each team went up and they had to try to answer the questions that Kayla and Sorcha had come up with for the books.

Nana and Granddaddy took their turn in competition and both sat in the kid seats.
Everyone got a good laugh!
Kayla came up with another fun game too-- Put the Sacred Heart on Jesus-- and my lovely niece Sorcha drew a beautiful picture of Jesus so we could play the game on Nana and Granddaddy's front door.

Oh yes, and we went swimming everyday. Multiple times.
