31 Days of Gratitude- {Day 18}- Nutcracker practice

This past weekend was a busy one, but one that was filled with many moments where my heart was filled to overflowing with love and gratitude.

Kayla is going to participate in her ballet studio's Nutcracker production this year, and she is so excited that it truly does make all the work that we as the parents have to put in worth it.

It's a big commitment too.  You can't go out of town from pretty much the beginning of October until the performances in December.  We were allowed one weekend that you could miss (if you communicate it to the studio) and we used it up already when Chris and I took our anniversary backpacking trip.  Last weekend, in particular, was extra full because we had a make-up rehearsal (from her being with my parents during our trip) plus a fitting for the Little Mouse costume (as you can see from the cute pictures!).  Additionally there were the weekend rehearsals for her two dances (Little Mouse and Angel) plus cast photos (they had to wear the black leotard and pink tights (top left photo) for those.

Busy, busy, busy, but it is so fun to see her smiling face and her eyes flashing with the thrill of it all.  Grateful for the opportunity to make this craziness happen this year because I know it will be an experience she will remember, probably forever.

I can't believe my little ballerina is so grown up.
We love you and are so proud of you, sweet Kayla.
