WIWS - January 12 - "No Two Outfits Are The Same" Challenge

In November, one of my very favorite mommy and style bloggers, Andrea over at Mommainflipsflops, made a challenge for herself.  The challenge was not to wear the same outfit twice in a month.  Why?  Because we are moms and we all have a few "go-to" outfits that we wear all the time.  I know I do.  I have some clothing items that I have no idea why they are still in my closet because I never wear them.  And then I have outfits that I wear probably once a week (and that's not counting the sweatpants outfits that I wear at least twice a week...) .  It's about getting out of your style comfort zone a little and trying new combinations within your wardrobe. Now is the time to actually wear that tank top that you bought on clearance that sits on the bottom of your drawer.  Now is the time to mix and match all those colors, patterns, stripes, and layers.

I could not join her challenge in the month of November because the hubby was offered a job in the earlier part of November and we were packing up and moving.  In December, I was living out of a suitcase for about 3 weeks, but now we are finally settled in our new place and I am taking the challenge for January.  Care to join me?  Try two weeks if a month seems overwhelming to you.  You don't have to make every look completely different.  Change up a necklace, pair an outfit with a different cardigan than usual, or add a belt....have fun!  Below are a couple examples from my month so far...I'll post more at the end of the month.  I would love for you to join me.  Taking care of yourself is an important part of being a woman and a mommy, and I am loving the confidence and peace I feel when I make a little effort to look my best on a regular basis.

*Disclaimer* In my "house rules" for the challenge, mommy is still allowed to have yoga pants and T-shirts days as long as they are limited to one a week.  ;)
Easy outfit with a pop of
color in the jewelry to make
it more exciting.
Added a belt to a top that I never wear because the straps on the tank are too big.  It gives the shirt shape and with a bright cardigan on top, no one can see that the straps slip down a bit.
This outfit was seen earlier in the week in a blog post about wearing belts over cardigans.
And now for the Sunday link-up with FLAP (Fine Linen and Purple)  I am sorry for the very blurry pictures.  I was in a rush and I guess one of my camera settings was a little off, but you get the general idea...

It was a foggy chilly morning for southern California, so I wore the cardigan the whole time, but thought I'd include a shot without too- a whole new outfit!  :)

The look:

Mustard cardigan: Target
Black shirt: McCaulou's (clearance rack)
Belt: hand me down
Patterned skirt: Ross (pretty sure it was $3.99- another clearance find! Did you know that Ross had a clearance rack?  I didn't until I stumbled upon it and found this skirt a few months ago)
Black boots : a gift from a friend (they are really cute, sorry they aren't pictured)
Earrings and Necklace: Botanical from Jacie's Premier Designs Like and follow her on FB here for great deals and giveaways

Join me for the challenge?? !!

Oh and check out my daughter's very own necklace design?  A hairclip attached to a ribbon.  The first version was a shorter ribbon and she asked her daddy to put it on her and added the hairclip herself.  Then she decided she wanted a longer necklace rather than a choker so we found a longer ribbon and I helped her double loop it to make this version.  She attached the same yellow hairclip "bling".
