7 Quicktakes....Saturday. Again.

Well I'm a day late again. Oh well.

1. In case you thought Ava had totally given up potty training- no she did not. We are doing what I call "lazy potty training". The basics of it are that neither of us wants to put in a ton of work, but we are open to it. I ask a few times a day if she'd like to sit on the toilet and try and she does. In return, she asks a time or two, and usually goes potty or poopy in the toilet about 1-3 times a day and we use diapers still, no undies. We are all happy with this arrangement for the time being. She gets her treats a few times a day for doing her business and I have a few less diapers to change, and we are on the way to someday being there, but there's really no pressure. At this point, I consider this situation a total win for all of us. The great potty training compromise of 2014. ;) hehe.

2. We go to Disneyland often. The past couple days we took a special family trip there (which I will cover in another post because we had a blast and there are TONS of pictures). But here are a few pictures from a trip last week or the week before. Elise isn't a fan of all that many rides because many of them have tunnels and she's not a fan of tunnels, so she and I do a lot of alternate things while Chris takes the other two on some of those rides. Here are some cute pictures of Elise getting a special visit with two of her favorite fairies: Fawn (animal fairy) and Tinker Bell.

And we visited the Snow White statues and fountain area.

3. And then there are rides that only Kayla and Chris can go on (the other two are too short and I am pregnant), so then I get to take Elise AND Ava on some fun rides together. The three of us tend to ride the tea cups, Dumbo, and the Carousel on a very regular basis together. Here's a sweet shot I caught of us on the Carousel together recently.

4. I am now somewhere smack in between 34-35 weeks. I am feeling well and we are able to get out for a lot of family walks in the evenings to make sure that I get some good walking in. Chris has begun a more regular work out routine as well, which has motivated me to be a bit more regular about doing some exercise videos and light weights in the evenings. Yay for fitness! I am having some Braxton Hicks contractions and regular pelvic pressure, so the body is definitely warming up for baby time.

(the white tank makes the belly look almost fake...haha)

5. Kayla made up a new language the other day. She spouted off a bunch of words, but I'll give you a few of the ones I caught...
Tinavadina (tee-nah-vah-dee-nah) translates to blanket. Fiajo (fee-ah-jo) is mirror. I also liked miatrazina (mee-aht-trah-zee-nah) which is necklace. Silly kid, but quite creative.

6. Elise is for sure a very auditory learner. It's not her favorite thing to sit down and work on something, and she often doesn't want to sit down and actually listen to the story and look at the pictures when I read to Kayla and Ava, but she loves to pore over the books on her own on the floor, and she does listen intently even from across the room, doing another activity. I am constantly amazed by how she can tell me all about a story later that she did not even sit and listen to like her sisters did. She's definitely got a very different learning style than Kayla does, but it's neat to discover slowly just how she does discover and make connections.

7. Chris and I went for our anniversary date about month and a half late. We took a date to Disneyland and went on a few rides and had a lovely dinner at the Blue Bayou. The food was delish and it was a completely different and interesting experience just going to Disneyland the two of us.

(a very dark selfie shot from our date)
