My Sunday Best + Freezer Meals + Hiking

We had a busy day!  Out of these three of the biggest events of the day, which do you think wore me out the most?

1. Prepping 6 Freezer Meals for after baby comes
2. Mass
3. Hiking

If you said Mass, you are correct.
The girls were not bad at Mass, but Sophie and Ava were both very squirmy.  And when they crawl all over this very pregnant mama and whisper and have to be somewhat constantly shushed during Mass, it totally exhausts me.

My Sunday Best:
Navy/white striped maxi dress: Pink Blush (Maternity)
Mustard cardi: Target
Necklace: Premier Designs
Flip Flops: Sanuks

Baby bump: 33 weeks +

Just a fun note about that Premier Designs necklace; it has magnets so that you can detach the bottom portion if you wanted to make the necklace a little shorter.  Sophie spent a bit of Mass pulling the magnets apart and then reattaching them and found it highly amusing.

During the afternoon, I prepped 6 freezer meals for when baby comes.

I used this website and found some great recipes.  I plan to make more from here another day, but today I made 2 batches of the chicken fajitas, 2 batches of the garlic-mint pork loin, a batch of the cilantro-lime chicken, and a batch of the chicken curry.

And to end the day, we took a quick hike this evening.  It's a spot we've hiked at previously, but it was no less beautiful this evening, and the 3 mile loop was a great way to get our hearts pumping a bit.

And the rest are all from Chris' phone

    1. Hard to believe, but we are on baby #5, and I have never tried the freezer meal thing. We usually just wing it, and hubby and I switch off and we just make it work, but this time, I decided to be more on the ball and prepare more. I'm excited to see how it helps in those first few weeks when all goes crazy. And yes, the hike at sunset was SO lovely. a perfect way to end the Lord's Day.

  3. Beautiful sunset pics. You are not alone in the Mass exhaustion. I keep telling myself it's just for this season of life. Hang in there!

  5. I love the colors in your dress and cardigan combination. Very summery! And thank you for the link to the freezer meals. While washing dishes this morning, I was thinking that I needed to start planning freezer meals. :)

    1. Yay, he's great. In fact, when I was making the freezer meals, one of the kids asked "Why can't Daddy just cook when the baby comes?" hehe. He will...and I will....and we'll have freezer meals too... lots of options, kiddo!

  9. Such beautiful scenery! I love seeing the pictures from your hikes :) And that dress is so cute!

I've never been able to go the freezer meal route - all the recipes end up having something or other that my family won't eat, so we kind of wing it as well... I try to do double-batches for soups and other freezer-friendly dishes that I make so that at least I have a little less work, but mostly I'm just soooo happy not to be pregnant anymore that cooking is a lot easier once the baby's born!

    1. Yes, we are loving the Colorado hiking and scenery!!

What kinds of stuff does your family dislike? A lot of the ones I made were pretty simple, but yeah, this is my first try with freezer meals, so we'll see how it actually goes.... hahahaha
