My Sunday Best: The First Day of May

Today I got to experience firsthand the bipolar weather patterns of Colorado.  Last Sunday the weather was mid-60s.  The week before that (just before we arrived, there was a big snow storm).  And this week?  Back to snow again.  Need I remind you that it is MAY 1st?  But Colorado is bipolar so this is in no way "strange" or "out of the ordinary".  This back and forth, hot to cold to warm to freezing is completely normal.

We just moved from Southern California.  I'm used to posting pictures of "summery" outfits in the winter when the rest of the world is freezing and wearing layers and layers and coats and boots.  Now I get my chance to be the one wearing boots and a coat (though not in the pictures, I took) when the rest of the world seems to be wearing cute spring dresses and skirts and sandals.  And I'm actually ok with it because I literally got to wear boots only about 4 times this past "winter" in SoCal, so I'm kind of happy that I got to wear them here even if it is MAY 1st.

This outfit for "my Sunday best" this week is not really very original, but I did change up my necklace, add boots and a bracelet, and my belly is bigger which change up the look a bit from when I wore a very similar outfit to Sophie's baptism.  Additionally, I SHOULD have worn leggings or tights, buuuuuut my selection on both those items after living in SoCal for two years is very, very slim....so oh well.  A small part of my legs was cold on the walk from the parking lot to the church entrance.  No big deal.

I got to wear my preggo pea coat this week too.  I never wore a jacket ever in SoCal except when it rained (a handful of times), so this was exciting too!  Sorry no picture to document that though..

I guess they might be mine...

My Sunday Best:
Green 3/4 sleeve shirt: Old Navy
White stretchy cami: Ross
Navy/white striped skirt: Old Navy
Gray boots: gift from my hubby
pearl-y necklace: Premier Designs
Navy Earrings: Premier Designs
Rosary bracelet: a gift made for me by a dear friend

Baby cooking: 21 weeks

lots of somewhat blurry, Sophie-bombed pictures for you this week, but I believe the theme of the week is terrible photos (at least that's what I read on host Rosie's blog this week).  Hop on over there for more photos (some that are apparently poor quality like mine) of mamas and other lovely ladies in their "Sunday Best".  Then link up with your own Sunday best or join in on Instagram with a Sunday best photo and the hashtag #mysundaybest.   It's a wonderful way to motivate yourself to dig a little deeper into your closet and it's fun to connect with other ladies and get style ideas for the future.

Have a blessed month of Our Lady!

  4. Such a pretty top! It's still been annoyingly cold in Virginia, but at least no more snow!

  6. Love that top! This is the first time I've been to the blog (I think) so congratulations on the new little one! It was chilly yesterday over here too (New England), but I didn't really know that until I got outside and was already on our way to Mass... so the spring-like too-cold outfit stayed :)
