Easter 2022

Easter 2022

Holidays are always extra tough because you lose half the time to make all the wonderful memories you want to make.  BUT the beauty is that you don't take each memory or moment for granted.  I can't bottle them all up or hold them in my hands, but I keep this blog to remind myself, and the kids too as they grow older, that we are bravely choosing life, love, and peace one day at a time.  The memories are tainted by sadness much like in the Pixar Inside Out movie, but there is great joy.  I'm grateful we aren't missing out on the joy even though there is heartache too.

Sophie Rose- 7 years old

Ava Chantal- 9 years old

Kolbe Christopher- 5 years old

Kayla Cecilia- 12 years old

Elise Marianna- 11 years old

The kiddos spent early Easter morning at Chris' and came to me around 9am.

We got to go to Mass together and had a fun egg hunt!

There was a fun game of Saint Memory in an Easter Basket that we enjoyed playing together before the kids had to head back to Chris' in the late afternoon.

Kolbe, especially, LOVED getting his favorite pairs.

Blessed Pier Giogio Frassati pair!

Sweet Kayla asked me awhile back to order this (she had been asking for a few for various things, so I thought nothing of it).  And then, this note and keychain showed up on my table.  I have the most thoughtful and encouraging kids.  A reminder that EVERY mama needs.

Happy Easter (9 months late)

April 2021

April 2021.

It already seems like a lifetime ago.

This girly is such a blessing. I am loving watching her grow up into a beautiful young lady.

I love when the hyacinths begin to bloom.

The girls' spring soccer continued to be a ton of fun.  Wednesday practices and Saturday games.  It reminded me of the many Saturdays I spent as a kid watching my big bro play soccer.  I cherished that time and I'm cherishing this time watching my own kiddos too.
The soccer fields had a playground nearby too that the kids spent a lot of time on as well.

EASTER 2021

Good morning!
Up bright and early to read the Easter story

Smoky's first Easter.  He has no idea what is going on.

Egg hunt

Even Smoky found an egg. I mean, a ball.

Hyacinths in bloom even more for Easter.

Heading to Mass and we saw a huge cross in the sky.

The kids left fun notes

Dying Easter eggs

And of course, playing games!

We played cornhole as well and this shot was amazing.
Three bean bags in the hole, but none of them fell through.
I mean seriously, look at it from the bottom.  I still can't believe none of the fell through.

We had the neighbors over for dinner...and cornhole.

She brought me a beautiful little rose plant

Mini drumsticks and wearing their new Easter shirts.

Have courage and be kind.
The girls and I kind of LOVE the "new" live action Cinderella.

Kayla got braces!

Smoky in the snow

I don't ever tire of looking at God's creation.  Especially the flowers.

and the mountains

Local lake with friends

Cherish every moment, friends.
They go by so quickly.

Tulips from my neighbor in our friendship flower jar.

Lilac bush got some buds this year

flower pieces collected by Kolbe

I love community.  I love people.
So I organize neighborhood BBQs because they are wonderful.

this smoked dip was amazing that Chris made

Love, love, love our neighbors

Kolbe got cranky so had to cheer him up

Amy and I got whooped at cornhole.  We demand a rematch

picking up at the end.  Yes, that's a kids picnic table upside down on a wagon.

mornings with Jesus

Afternoons with my monkeys ;)

Divine Mercy Sunday party with our neighbors

We made divine mercy sundaes.

This lake is my new fav place to take Smoky and to just breathe in God's presence

When your neighbor made homemade sushi and brings you a plate!

The best time I ever spend is with Jesus in adoration.
do not walk; RUN to adoration. He's waiting.

Our neighbor from our old neighborhood stopped by with a bag of Easter fun which included bunny ears!

And we had another kiddo receive a virtue award at school.
Congrats, Kayla.
You ARE definitely an amazing friend.

Reading truck books to the kiddos

Had to grab a shot with the two of them together with their awards.

Spring dances in, but winter sometimes cuts back in.

One of my fav things is finding goofy selfies on my phone that the kids take.

Neighborhood playing "school"

Fashion show

Isn't this little bouquet so adorable?

trash man Kolbe
The trash guy actually gave him that little vest.  so cute.

God is here.
Some days it feels like He's not.
The pain and struggle just keeps getting heavier.
But He is here and He is faithful.
Let's not let each other lose heart.
