Yesterday, I solved another exciting mystery. This mystery involved the culprit leaving a trail behind them....
thankfully, it was a trail of toilet paper and not--well, something else.
It was an especially simple mystery case because I knew it was Elise as soon as I saw the evidence. I had asked her to get a tissue for her runny nose. Lately she has been becoming very good at following directions. She has done this same task completely correctly several times this week...but she is also under the age of 2. And she had already been caught red handed by Dad the day before doing the "let's pull the entire toilet paper roll off and see what happens" thing.
Elise is many things. Sneaky is not one of them.
At first there was just the two of us, but now we're a little family of Bissonnettes sharing our story.

The Case of the Red Marker
So many times in the lives of a mom, things happen when you walk out of the room. And when you come back, it's like a mystery to be solved. At this age, of course, the mysteries are pretty simple.
Here's what I came back to: Elise covered in red markings
The suspects:
1. Kayla
2. Elise
3. Ava
The background:
When I walked back in, Kayla was holding several open markers. Elise was chewing on a crayon. Ava was laying on the floor in the living room cooing to herself.
Their alibis:
Ava: (silence)
Elise: Winnie uh Pooh!
Kayla: I drew on her.
Case closed.
