Winnie the Pooh Party

Our youngest turned 1 and we had a Winnie the Pooh themed party.  I gathered ideas from Pinterest and came up with some of my own too.  Check out Ava's first birthday party details.

Come on in!

 Party food!

Piglet's Acorns
Nutter butter minis with Hershey's kiss attached with a bit of peanut butter

Tigger Treats
 Cheetos
Large pretzels dipped in (orange-colored) white chocolate with chocolate drizzled for tiger stripes

Rabbit's vegetables
We did celery, carrots, cherry tomatoes, and green peppers with a honey and cream cheese dip

Eeyore's sticks
Pretzels (which we dipped in the extra frosting from the cupcakes for a delicious sweet and salty sensation)

Wise Owls
Honey Grahams dipped in chocolate with mini Oreo eyes, dabbed with melted chocolate and orange cream cheese covered Oreo triangles

Food not pictured:
Apple slices
 Teddy Grahams

Some personal touches

Games/Activities

Hot Potato
We used a sealed Honey bear container

Coloring pages
(dollar store coloring book- this is where I found the pictures I colored for the food descriptions)

Winnie the Pooh story time

I read a Winnie the Pooh story while the kids curled up with cozy pillows, blankets and stuffed animals

The baby read it to herself later...

Gopher's Tunnel
We just threw this outside on the patio and let the kids crawl through and run around.  They had a blast and it was SO EASY and fit with our theme. :)

Cupcakes

Little honeypot cupcakes

Apple cake made into cucakes with wrappers removed and yellow/orange (Mine turned out too orange for my liking) frosting.  Put frosting in microwave for 5 seconds to give it the "melting" consistency, then throw the cupcakes in the freezer for 5 minutes to solidify in position

Favors

Little bags of gummy bears to take home for a treat

Butterfly Cupcakes

What you need:

Frosted cupcakes (any color you want really)
Limited Edition Ice Cream OREO Rainbow Shure, Bert! cookies
(You could totally use regular or mint as well...these are just extra awesome)
Sour Patch Kids candies
Sprinkles

Butterfly Cupcake

1. Cut the cookies in half
2. Break off one side of the outside cookie to expose the inner filling
3. Arrange on the cupcake like butterfly wings
4. Add a line of sprinkles done the middle
5. Cut Sour Patch candy in half and insert into cupcake for butterfly antennae

My daughter LOVED that I came up with a "bootiful butterfly" for her birthday this year.
