June 2023 re-cap

 Beautiful flowers in my backyard

My first time ever mowing a lawn in my life.
I did pretty well.
I can't say that I enjoy it.  I can't say that I love the feeling of not being protected for and provided for that my husband mowing the lawn gave.  I can't explain it well but I know that the feeling of everything in this home and in our family being on my shoulders is overwhelming and terrifying.  It feels like a huge weight.  I know that mowing the lawn seems like a small task, because ultimately it is.  I do know how it feels to have all these small tasks suddenly be added to the already many small tasks that were on my plate.  It feels awful and heavy.
But I am proud of myself for doing difficult things.  One day at a time.

Fun play day with friends

My lovely friend and coworker Kate and her boyfriend planned a fun game night.

James was ashamed to be on my team for Trivial Pursuit

Saige and Morgan were a great team

I also did a clue room with my coworker and friend, Sarah.

So fun and the two of us were so close to cracking it.

A few random pictures that Kolbe took. :)

Sweet boy that he is.

Our dear friends, Nic and Monica invited us to their beautiful daughter's baptism.
What a joy to witness that!

Nic's dad is a deacon so he celebrated the baptism.

baby holding is my favorite!

oh my goodness, this sweet girl!

My kiddos put on a recital for Uncle Nick, Maggie, and Miss Billingsley and her boyfriend, Ben.

It was totally adorable

Afterward we watched High School Musical 2!!

The rest of June you shall see soon in other posts because it, too, was lots of fun!

Dance Recital (Little Pilgrim's Progress) May 2023

I was able to catch a bit of Kayla's dance at the end of the dress rehearsal.

The performance theme this year was Little Pilgrim's Progress which was really lovely.  Essentially a performance showing the many ways that we can get torn down and distracted in the world from our true journey to heaven.

Uncle Nick and Maggie were able to come to one of the performances!

Kayla's good friend Hayden and her mom came as well

Our former neighbors came to watch the girls as well!

Kayla's friend Gioia with her Mama and Grandma

I got to help out with several performances too

It was SUCH a joy to get to watch these girls perform!
Love you all to the moon and back.
