June 2021

June 2021

It seems so long ago already (and it kinda of is, since this is written 8 months later).

This boy.  He is so filled with the joy of the Lord. Never lose it, son.

Never lose Jesus.

I interviewed the kids one night about the tacos that Chris had made for dinner that night.
The answers are awesome.

God's promise.
"I will not doubt God's promise in unbelief. Rather I am empowered by faith and give glory to God.  I am fully convinced that what God has promised He is also able to do."  -Romans 4:20

our local state park lake with neighbors!

I love that our friends have such good friends in our neighbors.  What a blessing.

And I love that I have such good friends as well.
Our neighborhood mom squad is THE best.

beautiful skies.
beautiful reminders of God's love

Smoky's favorite place is also our local lake.

It's one of my fav places too.
What a marvelous place to think, pray, dream.

Our mailman is the best.
He brought water balloons one hot summer day so we could all have a big neighborhood water fight.

The kids went to Cincinnati alone with Chris in mid-June.  He did not want me to come and it was one of the hardest good-byes. I got them to smile for this picture, but the youngest three wailed when we went out to the car and I had to wave good-bye from the driveway.

My dear friends knew this would be such a painful separation for me and they surrounded me with love and friendship.

Amy took me to a local garden and we walked around and drank in the beauty of God's creation together.  We stopped for a lovely coffee and chatted.

I love bridges.
But they remind me of the good times in our marriage and relationship and that is so painful too.
I'm learn-ed enough to know now that God uses everything, and I know the bridges are both a hug and a reminder of God's promises to me as well as a call to pray for conversion and an outpouring of the love of Christ.

After the garden we had lunch at a lovely Italian restaurant.
Amy, you are so good to me.

Smoky and I spent time at the lake together

While the kids were gone with Chris, I hung out with our dear friends.  They made amazing food and we played yard yahtzee.  I had the best game of my life, guys.

my wonderful neighbor and I went on a very long hike and it was glorious.

I love this woman and her heart for Jesus.

And I love Jesus and his heart for me.

Taking a break with a view.

Treasures my son brought me one afternoon while I watched the kids play in the neighborhood.
I looked at these and just smiled.

Park date with friends!

The kids and I were invited to our neighbors' new house to play some Kub and hang out in the beautiful Colorado summer weather.

Neighborhood Mom squad together again!

Kub

The kids soccer game was pretty intense too

Our friend turned 40 and had an amazing 80's themed birthday party.

Sophie didn't want me to leave her to go to the party.

Kolbe didn't want me to leave so badly that he gave up movie night at home to come with me.

haha

Happy Birthday, Burnsie!  You are awesome.

we may have had warheads and airheads.

We have the most fun friends!

Cards and gifts for Daddy

No, it is not fall.  It was June.  But a bush in our neighborhood had a small section that changed to this beautiful blazing orange.  So lovely. So unexpected.

Pool days

This sweetie wanted to just sit with me and watch one day

I love this sweet friend.
On a particularly hard day she showed up with hard ciders and her company.

On the day that made the divorce process officially "begin" a dear friend in VA door dashed dinner for the kids and I knowing that I'd be a bit emotional and need a break.

This little guy had a sweet little ladybug land on him.

Back to the lake for more fun and relaxation.

Hanging at the pool again.

And this time we got to go with the neighbors.

June was filled with fun, family, friends, and tons of time spent outside!
