I recently came upon this awesome idea for a link-up-- Library Haul! We LOVE books around here and are always looking for suggestions and love sharing our favorites, so I was only to happy to throw a quick post up here about our library haul for this week. Here are our 5 favorites from this week's trip to the library.
1. Mommy's Little Sunflowers by Angela McAllister
This book is the sweetest little story and the illustrations are just precious. My 4 year old especially loves this book and has picked it for her bedtime story at least 3 out of the last 5 days.
2. Penguin's Christmas Wish by Salina Yoon
(and Penguin and Pumpkin + Penguin and Pinecone)
My mother in law got the two Penguin books on the bottom for us to take back on our roadtrip from Cincinnati to home and the girls LOVE them. So even though it isn't Christmastime yet, we saw Penguin's Christmas Wish in the "new titles" section at our library and couldn't resist checking it out. Just as the others are, it's totally adorable.
3. The Bear and the Piano by David Litchfield
(Another book from the "new titles" section at our library).
A delightful story about "making it big" and not forgetting one's roots. It's a sweet little story and it makes me want to turn on some classical tunes on piano while I read it to the kids.
4. The Seasons of Arnold's Apple Tree by Gail Gibbons
This author has been recommended to me by my mother in law several times and for good reason. Her stories teach and entertain.
This particular title is a wonderful one to read when learning about the seasons. And since it's all about an apple tree, I feel like it's a perfect book to read in the fall when all the apples are ripe and ready to be made into warm apple pies.
5. Grizzly Bears by Gail Gibbons
Another amazing book with engaging illustrations and wonderful information by Gail Gibbons.
I love that there are plenty of pictures to go along with the great factual information presented in this book. The girls enjoy reading and learning when a book is as engaging as this.
Head over to the link-up with a Gentle Mother to get some more great book ideas and/or link-up with your favorite library books from the week. Or just share what you've been reading with your little ones in the comments here! I'd love to hear about all things reading.
