Ava's First Holy Communion

May was also filled with one of the most glorious moments we get to experience in our lifetime as parents; the moment when Ava first received Jesus in the Eucharist.

Ava, your first communion day was a beautiful.
You were beautiful.
Jesus was present and it was so, so special to witness you receiving him for the very first time.  Moments that I cherish and relive in my memory often, and hope you will too.

"There is nothing more precious than the Eucharist.
If God had something more precious, He would have given it to us."
-St. John Vianney

Sweet Ava Chantal,
What a lovely day for you.
Keep Jesus close.  He's got you.

A huge THANK YOU to your aunt Laura for making your beautiful veil.

You LOVE it and it was so beautiful to be able to keep to our tradition
(Laura has made each of the girl a veil for their special day).

"From the Eucharist comes strength to live the Christian life and zeal to share that life with others."
-Pope St. John Paul II

And you insisted on one with Smoky

You kept your veil on all day

Stay close to Jesus, sweet one.

April 2019 re-cap

April was a busy and crazy month.  Kolbe continues to be a force to be reckoned with...every minute of every day. Below is just one example of what I mean.
One Monday morning he decided to dump half a bag of flour on the floor and dance in it.  Just for fun.  He gets into everything and climbs everything.  Nothing is safe from him unless it is locked up and even then, I'm not really sure that he won't figure out how to get to it in another month or so.  If you ever wonder if I might need an iced coffee, some chocolate, a friendly text, or to be kidnapped for a girls night, the answer is definitely yes.

If you know me, you know I LOVE hugs more than allllmost anything, so I am often found snuggling and hugging my little people. Especially first thing in the morning when they dogpile me in bed.

A beautiful spring day at our church when the daffodils were first blooming.

More silly selfies

Kolbe is a ball of fiery energy, but he is a lover through and through.  Moments like these where I find him snuggled up with one of his sisters' reading (or when he runs to me and yells, "Mommy, hold you!" and insists on hugs and kisses) melt my heart and make every other annoyance seem like a drop in the ocean. He is just the sweetest little boy and his smile and cuddles bring so much JOY and LOVE to all of us.  What a gift he is.

Weekly during the school year, I attend a Ladies Prayer Group and it is a wonderful blessing.  We begin with praise and worship and then we share our hearts, reflect on scripture, and apply it to our lives.  One week, one of the gals brought some relics from some holy and incredible saints who have gone before us and whose stories inspire us to live lives full of love and hope.
During the meetings, Sophie often likes to stay close to me.  One week I drew her some flowers in my journal to color in and it was just beautiful to watch her sit and color.

We attended one of "Uncle Nicky's" rugby games, and the girls girls made him signs and yelled loudly for him.

Just another picture from an early morning in my bed.

Spring flowers budding and blooming in between the many spring snows that dumped on us this year in Colorado.

One lovely spring day, the girls and I just laid on the front lawn looking at beautiful clouds.

And on a very rainy spring day, we met Chris at the local Chick-fil-A for lunch.  The kids were THRILLED!

Adoration with my little loves

The girls begged for a family game of charades one evening.
It was a game filled with laughter and fun.

Our grocery store has this pony that you can ride for a cent and there's usually a bucket of pennies sitting there so you don't even have to bring the one cent yourself.  The kids love that they get to ride while I pay for our food.

More spring flowers.  Tulips will always have a special place in my heart as we had a bunch of them in our yard growing up.

Park fun in the evening

Super dad!
Best bud sisters

Prayer journaling time with lovely journals from Blessed is She and stickers from BeAHeartDesign.com.

Our library was closed for renovations for several months and opened again at the beginning of April.  You better believe it was one of the kids' favorite days of the year when it opened back up again.

Power washing and staining the fence.
Power washing the fence and staining it.

We put in a sidewalk to the backyard as well.  The kids loved watching that fun, especially when the big cement mixer came.

I told you he is the sweetest.  Even in his sleep.

We celebrated Divine Mercy Sunday with our friends, the Hjelmstads.  We enjoyed Divine Mercy Sundaes in honor of the occasion and prayed a Chaplet of Divine Mercy together with our families.

Megan and I tried to get a picture of the two of us.
1. Yes, a child was holding the camera
2. No, I am not pregnant despite Megan's hand placement which often is an indicator of something.
3. Sophie with an amazing photobomb.

Apparently someone still had the camera out when I was busting a move.

 That's better!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The last day of our homeschool co-op for the 2018-2019 school year.

Making straw rockets

making shapes with popsicle sticks and play-doh

Building the mysteries of the Rosary with Legos.

 Co-op kids

 And a goofy one.

And that's April in a nutshell.
