Spring Break 2022

 Spring break means...

Spring break hats!!!!!!!!!!!

The kids and I had a pretty tough year, and honestly, it continues to be tough.  When you lose something (especially by a choice that wasn't your own), the grief kicks you in the face out of no where sometimes.  So, for spring break, we decided to find as much fun and joy and family time as we could. We began with fun at the pool!

yay for the pool!

We went for a fun hike with Uncle Nick and some of us wore our Spring Break hats there too!

If you look closely you can see the big horn sheep

We had tons of fun

not sure what he's doing, but it was impressive

Thank you everyone who pours out love on us.  We are so grateful.

and obviously fun at the pool itself

AND something else super fun we did was spend a night at a hotel.  The kids thought this was like the best thing ever.  The hotel had a pool and spa and we played some great card games.   AND I got offered a JOB while we were there.  Not at the hotel.  I got offered a teaching job at the kids' school.

We met wonderful friends for dinner

It was so so much fun!

and back to the hotel room for some fun card games and reading

When we got home, the neighbors had set up a scavenger hunt in the house for us.

fun prizes at the end

It was a very fun Spring break.

February 2022 overview

In February, my parents came to visit.  We love when Nana and Granddaddy come to visit.  There's always a lot of fun game playing!

"You let the love fern die!"
What's it from?

Spending time with Jesus is the literal best.

I don't know how the kids stayed out in the frigid weather.  I was SO cold.  I sat in the car.
I'm still a CA girl when it gets cold.

We watched a Christmas movie every month of 2022.  February's movie was The Muppet Christmas Carol.

my word of 2022 spotted on my trip to New Orleans for a girls trip with my besties from college.

my dear friend from our local grocery store passed away.  This man shined the love of Jesus to me every time I went to King Soopers. He was the guy who put the carts away, a humble and kind soul.  His smile was always present and his heart was always ready to listen and offer wisdom and peace.

Game time with Nana and Granddaddy

Clue is Kayla's favorite

Foosball fun!

This was a freezing cold walk.  We literally got to the park (about 1/4 mile from home) and decided to just head right back home.  We did stop for this quick picture before we turned right around to get back to the warm house.

My dad's birthday is in February so we decided to celebrate with him.  We didn't have the right number of candles nor the right numbers on the candles, so we decided to have some fun with it.  :)

Happy birthday, Dad!

Birthday boy!

Trying to figure out just how old he is.

Happy 530th birthday, Dad.  You don't look a day over 73.

Elise wanted one with all of us, so here it is.  That's her hand, of course.

Giving blessings and saying good-byes.

I love how close my kiddos are to my parents.
Thank you, Mom and Dad, for making such an effort to be a part of their lives, not just for the fun, but also for the hard parts too.  You have been here through thick and thin, and they see Jesus in you. We are all so grateful for your presence in our lives, most especially now.

We played some Quirkle and laughed a lot and had ice cream sundaes (that is a cherry covered in chocolate that Kolbe is holding).

February had a whole lot of fun!
