Kayla's Christmas Story Book 2015

Kayla wrote the shell of this (so basically a simple sentence about the Christmas tree, making gingerbread men, and that she loves reading Christmas books) early on in Advent.  We then, made it into a writing lesson as I showed her some other writing and we discussed adding more details and using exciting verbs and adjectives to make a story more interesting to the reader.  I love her final draft and I'm so proud of her for sticking with it and creating something that we will certainly treasure for years to come. 

St. Nicholas' Feast Day 2015

I'm going to apologize now for the terrible quality pictures.  It was late at night when I finally snapped them and the only light was from the lovely Christmas tree twinkling across the room.  In real life it was beautiful, quiet, and peaceful.  In pictures, it just looks dark and low quality, but just try to pretend you are viewing the girls' shoes by the fireplace lit by the warm glow of our fresh pine tree and it should elevate your experience a bit.  :)

Elise's on the left (notice she is finally showing an interest in letters and numbers and can write her name).  Ava's is on the right with all the pictures.  I'm not entirely sure what (or who) they are supposed to be though...
