First Day of SUMMER!

Here's Ava on the way to the beach...because you know you can't leave home without 20 of your toys to keep you company. ;)

We spent the first official day of summer at the ocean. Kayla LOVES the water and Ava headed down to dip her feet in and laugh as only a carefree, joyous toddler can as the waves reached her chubby toes. Elise was content to hang out with me laying on her beach towel and playing in the sand, looking for shells and digging holes. There was a youth surfing contest a short ways up the beach which we very briefly watched.

Chris took our two eldest fish to the pool later as well for some swimming. Kayla is so comfortable with her floaties on now that she will swim all around the pool on her own and jump off the side. Elise has also warmed up to the water and "swims" all around the pool in her floaties though she doesn't usually jump off the side unless Chris or I is there to "catch" her. Ava and I stayed behind to have a little time together. We read and made frosting to decorate the sugar cookies that Kayla and Elise helped me bake the day before.

Hope your first day of summer was filled with some fun activities too! I found myself singing Olaf's (the snowman) song from the movie Frozen, "In Summer"!!!!!!!!!!! It's gearing up to be a very fun and eventful one for our little Bissonnette family.
