Happy 6th Birthday, Kayla!

Dearest Kayla-bean,

Just look at you.  The sweet girl who first made us parents 6 years + 9 months ago (plus another month because I am so late posting this!)

It was a big year for you.  You started Kindergarten (and whizzed through it).  You took your first year of ballet and were part of your first dance recital.  You are breezing through books these days and are a big help to me with Sophie.

I wrote a post about you just before your birthday, which has lots of updates, and here is one from your ballet recital too.

So this will be short and sweet.  You are a beautiful girl, inside and out.  You don't always choose to love and share, but you often do, and you are learning.  It can be hard to have adoring little sisters who don't understand when you need some alone time.  It can be hard to learn to share ALL the time(because in this family, we share and share and share.  Partially because there are 4 girls and partially because we want you to all understand that life is more fun when you are giving of your time, talent, and treasure instead of hoarding everything for yourself.). But though you lose your temper at times, you always come back with a smile on your face and a heart ready to jump in again and love, love, love.

You love to be around others (though you still do value some time to yourself to recharge). Your cousins Lily and Sorcha are your besties and you wish you could get together with them WAY more.  You have also made some sweet friends in our homeschool group- boys and girls.

You are protective and a big help with baby Sophie.  You never tire of smothering her with kisses and love.  You are already reading American Girl books on your own and your abilities continue to awe us.  You have a beautiful heart for Jesus and you tell me all the time that you want to be a Saint.

Happy (belated) birthday, Little Bear.  You are such a joy to be around.

Love,
Mommy and Daddy
