7 QT Friday: Jonny and Crystal visit

It's Friday once again.
And only 2 days until Christmas...that escalated quickly.  Probably because a portion of our past week was spent visiting with dear friends who came into town for Kolbe's baptism.

1. Introductions

Crystal and Jonny are wonderful friends from Southern California.  They are great people.

2. Kolbe's godparents

They agreed to be little Kolbe's godparents and flew out for the occasion.  And they got lots of snuggles in while they were here.

3. Piano with Jonny

Jonny is a professional musician and has a pretty sweet business.  His YouTube channel is all sorts of fun because he's a ridiculously talented piano player.  We don't have a piano, but Jonny had fun playing on our little out-of-tune toy piano with Kolbe.

4. Nails with Crystal

Crystal loves painting nails, and recently she tried Jamberry and likes them a bunch, so she offered to let the girls have some girl time and do nails.  They loved her sample sheets and wanted each nail to be a different design.

Sophie's little fingers are too small and her patience is non existent, so she didn't get her nails done, but she wanted to be part of the action and get in on pictures afterwards.

5. My nails

Crystal offered to do my nails too.  I have painted my fingernails about 2 times in my adult life.  They never last so I just don't bother.  I paint my toenails, but not my fingers.  But Jamberry is supposed to be really strong, so I said if you want to give me a manicure while we chat, I'm game.  So I picked some of the polish and a cute little accent flower design.  And they are really cute.  And they haven't chipped yet, so they are holding up better than any other manicure I've ever had, professional or otherwise.

6. Double Date

We snatched up a very rare babysitting opportunity and decided the four of us would try for a double date.  We tried out a local brewery (which had a delicious hard cider for us gluten free gals) first and then headed on to a fun restaurant in Denver with some great gluten and dairy free options.

And we made snow angels.  Because though we don't get out often, we are still fun and spontaneous.
and of course we threw giant snowballs at the guys, who bravely...ran away to the safety of the car.

7. Friendship

During the time that Crystal and Jonny were here, we ate some excellent (and very healthy) food.  Crystal has a number of food restrictions, but we ate well all the same.  We also had some amazing conversations.  I think it's so important to have wonderful, supportive, wise, and encouraging friends.  They help us to be better people and we are grateful for their love, example, and friendship.
