This year we have decided to challenge ourselves and try to complete the 52 Hike Challenge (basically you hike at least once a week on average). This isn't so difficult for us in the nice weather months since we get out and hike often, but the cold winter months are certainly a challenge. But we are doing this, so we headed out to try our first snow hike on a nearby regional trail yesterday. We haven't hiked in a couple months really, so the kids were all a little slow(er than usual) and whined a bit, but we hiked 1.6 miles in below freezing temps and by the end they were all happy as clams and talking about our next snow hike. :)
