We have been blessed with all sorts of fun visitors this year. Don (Chris' mom's cousin) and his wife, Cally were out spending some time in Colorado and looked us up. We had a fun evening with them. We hiked our favorite hike in the area and got lovely views of Denver and vibrant fall colors.

As soon as they arrived, they were chatting away with the kids, asking them about life, and listening to all the little things they had to say. With kids, that is the most important skill. Listen to them. They love when adults stop and take the time to really hear what they are saying and respond accordingly.

After our fall hike, we headed back for dinner at our place. And more chatting and more listening and lots of good conversation. And yes, the adults got to talk too. :) Not surprisingly, Sophie LOVED Don. He's goofy just like her.

And they were just the sweetest. They brought a yummy dessert to enjoy plus a few treats they'd picked up in CO Springs for the girls and these lovely wind chimes to hang on our back deck. Everyone was excited.
Thank you, Don and Cally, for coming out and taking some time out of your fun vacation to hang out with us one evening. It was just so much fun to see you and catch up a bit. The girls recited poetry and colored them pictures and after we put the kids to bed, the adults had even more time to laugh and chat some more for a bit. Can't wait to see you again and come back this way anytime!
