Visit from the Wagners

My older sister's family visited Colorado over Christmas. Her husband's parents live north of Denver, and they invited us for a big post-Christmas dinner dinner on Dec. 26. We spent an enjoyable evening with them and later in the week, my sister's family came and stayed with us for a couple days.

Cousin and sister slumber parties were a highlight. We moved Sophie back to the crib in her Kayla and Ava's room one night while her cousin slept in her bed in the room with Elise. Sophie did not want to sleep in the crib any longer apparently and climbed into bed and fell asleep with Kayla (and Kayla's doll). It was precious.

There was a lot of tower building with the magnatiles that my sister's family gifted us for Christmas. They were so very proud of how tall they were able to get a few of their towers.

Because Christy's family often visits for either Thanksgiving or Christmas, we have made an unofficial tradition of making our graham cracker houses with them at some point during the general "Christmas-time". It's really cute watching them all busily working.

Some of them are highly concentrated on the building. Some are more highly concentrated on the candy eating and finger licking. But it's all wonderful.

A great STEM project by the way. Next year, I think I'll give them twice the number of graham crackers each and see what they can build.

These two have always been thick as thieves. They had so much fun in the short visit, and always write each other letters in between visits. There was chalk drawing in the driveway, tower building, imaginary play, barbies and so much more fun during their visit.

We were all amazed that somehow Declan got his house to stand fairly stably without almost ANY frosting, yet poor Eilish was having a problem despite using frosting to get hers to hold together. She didn't seem to mind though since the end goal (eating it all) was the same for everyone.
