My reading was slow for the months of August and September as we had a few out of town guests in August and school started in early September, but I still read some interesting books.
The Weaver's Daughter was a regency romance novel and was nice and easy listening while I went on a few short runs in the month of August and did household chores. Unbound, on the other hand, was much hearvier. It is a book about deliverance and deliverance ministry. I found it to be very interesting as it made points that often things have a deeper hold on us than we are willing to admit and it affects our lives and those we encounter.
One Beautiful Dream by Jennifer Fulwiler was really good. She really breaks down the importance of finding your "blue light"- whatever makes you come alive-- and doing that, even in motherhood. So many mothers feel a little lost and like they have no real purpose, and she spoke to that with her encouragement to continue to be you and pursue other hobbies and activities that you truly love, but to do it within the context of family.
Elegy for Eddie was another Maisie Dobbs novel. As usual, it was great listening.
Present Over Perfect by Shauna Niequist has been on a "to read" list in the far recesses of my mind. It came up on Hoopla as a recommendation, so I listened to it. It was great! It discusses exactly what the title says it does--how to be more present in your life and worry less about perfection.
