Holy Thursday, I stayed home with the smallest kiddos while Chris took the oldest two to Mass. We did the traditional washing of the feet with the four of us and it was super sweet especially Kolbe's giggles as his sisters washed his dirty little toes.

I made a quick stop at the church near us on Holy Saturday with Kolbe after I picked up a few items at the nearby grocery store. It was so silent. So still. Just exactly how Holy Saturday must have felt when Jesus was in the tomb. Such a deafeningly loud silence yet one that requires us to keep hope even when we don't understand how redemption or restoration will actually come. So much trust is required that there will actually be resurrection after darkness and death.
On Holy Saturday morning we made these sweet treats.
The closed tomb.
Our tradition of dying Easter eggs on Holy Saturday continued.
Easter morning we had a similar treat.
The empty tomb.
Roll away the stone!

Family candids

Sophie just would not smile.
She's still not having it for the picture with Uncle Nick, but Kolbe is having a ball.

Someone left a surprise egg hunt on our front lawn while we were at Mass!

We had friends over for dinner and it was a really beautiful day filled with hope in the resurrection of our Savior who broke the power of death and won victory for all of us.
