We are going to rewind about 2 1/2 months to mid-March when we attended an event at our local library with Kayla and Elise. The illustrator of the Fancy Nancy books lives only about 15 minutes away from our last residence in Southern California, so our library hosted an event and it was fabulous!
A new Fancy Nancy book had recently come out about a sleepover, so the event invite suggested wearing your fanciest pajama attire. They handed out paper crowns and got to listen to the illustrator (Robin Preiss Glasser) read the newest Fancy Nancy book aloud. She also talked about illustrating the stories and gave out some fun prizes. At the end, she signed books (new ones that you could purchase there or ones that you'd brought from home).
My parents were visiting that weekend, so my mom came along for the fun. The girls gave her a fancy bow to wear in her hair so she'd fit in. :)
The girls had a blast and they even had fun pink popcorn and wands for the girls to enjoy as well. I already miss our old library, but we have visited our new one many times and can't wait to see what kind of fun events they have here! The summer reading kickoff is next week, I believe, so it's sure to be a fun summer at the library. We've never met a library we didn't love.
